  • Responsible for the majority of content, including cover stories, for an international luxury lifestyle magazine. I also copy edit the entire magazine.


Mexico News Daily

Content contributor, columnist, April 2020 to November 2020

  • Wrote five stories five days a week for the preeminent English-language news site in Mexico, as well as a weekly column on news events in the state of Baja California Sur.


John Fabian Productions

Researcher, August 2019 to March 2020

  • Worked on Sasquatch (2021 Hulu) as a field producer and researcher tasked with locating relatives of undocumented Mexican migrants killed in relation to marijuana cultivation.


Intelligence Report, Southern Poverty Law Center

Senior Editor, February 2017 to September 2019

  • Wrote and edited award-winning breaking news and feature stories for the nation’s premier blog/magazine covering political extremism and the radical right.

  • Assigned and edited all copy for Intelligence Report magazine (circulation 400,000).

  • Assigned and edited 80 posts a month for Hatewatch, a blog on political extremism that received up to 1 million hits a month during my tenure.

  • Managed 35+ staff, freelance reporters and photographers.

  • Invited expert speaker at international conferences on political extremism in Singapore and London.

  • Organized international law enforcement conferences on the radical right.

  • Attended major white supremacist events including Unite the Right in Charlottesville.

  • Total grant funds managed exceeded $750,000.

  • Instituted a new fundraising database.

  • Oversaw major national Smithsonian traveling exhibit.

  • Traveled extensively throughout the state promoting AKHF grant programs and attending and presenting at related conferences.

Communications Consultant, September 2010 to May 2012

  • Responsible for producing all English-language communications (press releases, website text, menus, etc.) for a luxury boutique hotel in San Jose del Cabo voted Best in Mexico by readers of Conde Nast Traveler. 


Baja Pulse

Founding Editor, November 2009 to April 2010

  • Built a 20,000 circulation, bi-weekly English-language paper from the ground up in Los Cabos, Mexico. 

  • Wrote and edited 20,000 to 30,000 words an issue.

  • Recruited staff and freelance reporters.

  • Supervised distribution, publishing and printing issues, advertising, graphic design, website design, marketing of the paper, etc.

  • Wrote 5,000 words of copy each issue of a bi-weekly English language paper in Los Cabos, Mexico (24,000 circ.)
